Rebecca Stanton
Guidance Counselor

Welcome to the Heyworth High School Guidance Page!  As the counselor for grades 7-12, my responsibilities are widespread. I provide academic support, course planning and scheduling, mental health support, referrals to outside organizations, crisis intervention, and assist with SAT Suite/Accuplacer testing. I maintain partnerships with the Bloomington Area Career Center, Heartland Community College, and more. As part of the Heyworth Safety Nest, Jeanne Etheridge, Tammy Houghes, Michelle Carr, and I ensure the needs of all students are met, especially concerning mental health. I work closely with Dr. Katie Bruemmer in her new role as the College & Career Coordinator: colleges wishing to arrange visits or employers promoting open positions should contact her at bruemmerk@husd4.org.

2023-2024 will be my eighth year at Heyworth, and I feel lucky to work with such incredible staff and students! My favorite part of the job is getting to know students individually, and I think we are the best "small" district in the state. Have a happy and healthy school year!
